Counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people

About

“What is the bravest thing you've ever said? asked the boy.
'Help,' said the horse.
'Asking for help isn't giving up,' said the horse. 'It's refusing to give up.”

Charlie Mackesy

Having studied Psychology at university, I worked as a teacher in secondary schools, specialising in supporting young people with additional needs. I then trained as a psychodynamic counsellor at the University of Cambridge.

I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their ethical framework.

Through PTUK (Play Therapy UK), I also trained as a Therapeutic Play Practitioner (Christchurch University, Canterbury) and then a Play Therapist (Leeds Beckett University). This training included usng expressive arts which I often incorporate into therapy with adults and young people.

I work as an independent counsellor and psychotherapist both privately and in secondary schools in Cambridgeshire. I am also an associate counsellor with HCCN (Huntingdon Community Cancer Network).

I qualified as a supervisor through Terapia (London) and supervise counsellors working with adults and young people, as well as school staff supporting young people.

My private practice is based in Houghton, near Huntingdon.
